Topgolf International has identified Ashfield Land’s Two 74 Glasgow development as a unique and exciting opportunity to expand its global footprint. The entertainment heavyweight hopes to bring its state of the art, multi-level golf entertainment complex to the City and Scotland for the first time.
In partnership with Ashfield Land, Topgolf has today revealed initial plans for a major facility at Two 74 off Cambuslang Road adjacent to Junction 2 of the M74.
“Our first three venues were in the UK, and we have been looking to expand here in Scotland for a number of years now,” said Chief Development Officer Chris Callaway. “Throughout the last few months, we have focused on securing a suitable location in Glasgow. Two 74 is the ideal location for us, and we will work with the Local Authority and other agencies to secure an implementable consent.”
Steven McGarva, Development Director at Ashfield Land who has led the strategic assembly of the Two 74 site and is overseeing its build out, commented, “Ashfield Land is delighted to be working with Topgolf on a new and exciting venue for Glasgow which will bring with it significant jobs and investment. Our plans will be finalized in the coming weeks with a detailed application expected to be submitted by the end of the year.”
Topgolf’s interest underlines the fantastic location that Two 74 offers and is another substantial step toward realising the potential of this strategic development location. The site is located on the Cambuslang Road, around one mile east of Rutherglen town centre.
The prominent location lies at Junction 2 of the M74 and is part of the wider Clyde Gateway, Scotland’s biggest and most ambitious regeneration program.
Topgolf would create 350 full- and part-time jobs at this location.
